This one is for adult industry

If you have any issues with talk about 18+ content, from the business perspective, consider this your cue to check out my other case studies!

Working on this project has opened my eyes to a whole new subculture and ways of generating income as a model. In this case study I will not necessarily go over what steps Kayla and I took to establish her and propel her earnings, but overall what the main strategy is for all models.

Kayla has been through all of this, and if you read carefully, you'll be able to figure out what stage she is in now!

What does a website do for an adult model?

Kayla was the first ever model that reached out to me for my services, so I had to do quite a bit of research to understand all the business models that the models use to make money. It's a complex ecosystem and can be very overwhelming for all the girls that are starting out, but also in the same way can be very lucrative for the people who know how to game the system.

These are the staples to get on top

  • Establish a main source of income

This is the place where you want everyone coming from your short term and long term marketing stunts. Most models use OnlyFans as it's accessible and easy to set up.

  • Establish secondary, tertiary and even a fourth source of income

Considering how competitive the current OF market is this is a classic situation of an oversupply. There is obviously still a huge demand, but in order to stand out and make real money out of OnlyFans you really need to stand out. The way that most of the top models do this is through posting just the right amount of free content to pull people onto all of their platforms, where they specialize.

  • After making a decent amount of starting content on all of the platforms start with the SMM

SMM is mostly tied to twitter and instagram, former allowing NSFW material. This is a very important step and one that can't be skipped. Post quality content, post multiple times a day and network with other models by retweeting them and seeing who retweets back. Same goes for Instagram. It's the long game, but there's a reason why everyone does it.

  • Find short term platforms to promote yourself on as well

The best platforms to drag people to your twitter and content platforms are reddit and other forums that allow self promotion. There is no daily limit to how much you can post, so you have to learn the basics of reddit and go from there.

  • Get a website to tie it all together

Once you have sizable enough following that you can drag onto your website, you can start selling custom content and cross promoting everything AND there's also affiliate marketing.

Being a model is just like running a business. The more you put in and think about it, the more you get out of it financially.

Lessons Learned

Before dipping my toes into this industry by chance I had absolutely no idea how any of it worked. It is really interesting to see how something that started getting popularity as recently as OnlyFans did, has attracted quite a few business savvy people who quickly climbed to the top of the ranks and are making big bank. The lesson here is, no matter what you do, if you treat it like a business, define your goals and observe what the best do, you will get ahead of the game.
